Communal Areas
Our three airy lounges have large windows with splendid views of the gardens and are attractive rooms where residents can socialise with each other. There is access to a large patio area at the front of the building where the residents often sit outside enjoying the sunshine and grounds.
Mealtimes
There is a pleasant dining room which is bright and spacious where main meals are served.
We have two experienced cooks who take pride in the quality of meals served, dependent upon individual nutritional needs and personal preferences. Wherever possible we use locally produced fresh meats, fruit and vegetables. We believe a good balanced diet is fundamental to good health.
The drinks trolley goes round regularly throughout the day with a selection of hot and cold drinks and we have our own mini bar for those who like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage. Extra snacks and fresh fruit are always available.
All of our staff are well trained in helping those with Dysphagia (difficulty in swallowing) and all variations of food and fluids can be met using the IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) framework. This framework is used across the world and enables us to safely help improve the life of those living with Dysphagia.
Bedrooms
We have 27 single rooms, 4 en-suite rooms and 5 large double rooms.
Bedrooms are situated on both the ground and first floor and are accessed by lifts at either end of the home.
Each room has a call system to request a carer for assistance. We encourage residents to bring treasured possessions from home to make their room as homely and familiar as possible. Rooms are individually decorated, with coordinated bedding and furnishings. All rooms have a TV point and some have a telephone point.
We supply towels and bedding and have our own Laundry in house.
Bathrooms
We have a shower/wet room located on the first floor and 2 bathrooms, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor, with specially designed equipment for all residents to use.
Separate toilet facilities are located around the home.
Our dedicated activities duo provide a variety of imaginative activities carefully tailored to match our resident's interests and abilities. Chris & Sophie use "individual life stories" as a way of gathering information to help create activities that provide stimulation, fun and enrichment to our resident's lives. They continue to develop and build on individual relationships with all the residents adapting to their ongoing needs and requirements
We recognise keeping an active mind along with keeping mobile is essential for both mental and physical well-being
Below is a list of just a few activities that we provide for the mind and body:
It is so important not to forget food for the soul, the happiness of our residents is vital. We run a range of activities with the aim of improving overall emotional well-being.

We believe relationships and social interactions are important at any age and are proven to help reduce feelings of loneliness and depression. We encourage our residents to take part in the range of recreational activities we have on offer, even if it is simply enjoying a chat with a fellow resident over afternoon tea, a domino match with a beer or a glass of wine over dinner with their family and friends.
Woodhall Park enjoys a number of regular visitors to the home, joining in with activities and social coffee mornings, so much so, our resident’s relatives have formed their own friendships.
We have developed close relationship with the local church - All Saints in Risley. We have regular visits from the lay minister who provides pastoral support or just a friendly face for our residents. We can accommodate church services for those that wish to attend.
Risley Woman's Institute [WI] visit approx every 4 - 6 weeks delivering a wide range of seasonal activities and arts and crafts for all the residents to enjoy.
